1. How much time do you dedicate to learning design every day?
With each project I do, I take the time to research my clients needs; So it’s usually within that time of research that I learn methods to get the job complete in a more efficient time frame, and at a lower cost for each of my clients.
2. What other designers do you have contact with on a regular basis?
I’m actually partnered up with Julie Holloway of jmhstudio.com, who does most the Logo and Print design that goes through my company. She is very very talented. Web design and Print design are definitely two completely different beasts. So I enjoy interacting with her, and it kinda takes me out of that “work at home alone” feeling I get on occasions. Almost like a ‘Water Cooler’ office moments through out the day that are nice, and we can relate to eachother.
3. Who are the top 2-3 designers that you respect and why?
I respect ALL designers. Its not an easy field to go into, but i love my job, as I’m sure most designers would agree.
4. What’s your favorite website or design you ever made and why? (link)
Honestly, It’s hard to say because I don’t sit here and make websites for myself all day long.. I basically take my clients needs and create their art for them.
(Way to dodge that bullet huh? lol)
5. Have you ever been published in a book or magazine? What books or magazines?
Yes, all over the classifieds section! lol
6. What’s your favorite color in hexadecimal? How often do you find yourself leaning towards it with design projects?
#999999 – Cause it’s really fun to type ….. and it’s gray.. what doesn’t go with gray? Nothing. Amen.
7. What’s your most recent project we can look at?
I actually just re-designed my website. stephboreldesign.com. Which I love. The hardest website to design is your own, you’ll actually see alot of designers hiring other people to design their site, because everything they do, they think sucks.. Well at least that’s how I am. :) Less is more.
