Travel brochure cover tutorial
Ever needed a travel brochure for a client or wanted to make a brochure for your band or candle business? Let’s build one together using PS. This tutorial is for the cover of a travel brochure, but I made it for my personal site from images I collected on road trips.

Step 1 – Create your canvas size of 375px (wide) × 659px (tall) and 300dpi (use this for printing – I chose 96dpi as I’m only using mine on the web) Choose #fff568 as your background color. After creating your background, find an image of paper and overlay it onto a new layer. Change the alpha setting of the paper until you have a slightly visible image. I used a wrinkled paper image I already had. You can use CG Textures to get some great textures for yours.

Step 2 – Choose shapes and choose the airplane shape that comes standard with Photoshop. Change your color to anything you like, and once you place the airplane on the canvas you can Skew and Scale it until it looks good.

Step 3 – Use the Pen Tool to make some jetstream and lower the alpha setting to make it appear opaque. Take your Brush Tool and make grey circles in different sizes to create clouds. You can also learn more about creating clouds at the Cloud frame layout tutorial.

Step 4 – Using any bold font (boxed typography is the way we like it) type out “Travel ng”. Yes, the “i” is missing. The “i” will go behind the plane layer.

Step 5 – Highlight the word “Travel ng” and give it some curves. Choose the Arc curve and move the sliders to get the exact bend you like for your text.

Step 6 – If you have it, import an image with a sunset onto a new layer and choose the Rectangle Marquee Tool – Set the Feather to 20px and make a box over the top of the image. Click Delete. Depending on your sunset image yours might look like this one with the feathered top.

Step 7 – Add in some images of cool places you visited or your band rocking out. Make them different sizes to make it look better.

Step 8 – Using the Rounded Rectangle Tool you can make a #ffffff box and set the border to be #000000 with a 1 or 2px width.

This is my finished product! What does your look like? Post a link in the comments below so we can all check it out.

Thanks for sharing these great brochure cover design ideas. The cover of a brochure is very important since it is responsible for drawing readers to the information contained inside. For small businesses who are developing their marketing material, a graphic artist and a good printing company are important partners to help grow your business.
