Bryan Brinkman – 7 design questions interview
Designer – Bryan Brinkman
Website – brinkanimation.com
Blog – brinkjunk.tumblr.com
Twitter – @bryanbrinkman

1. How much time do you dedicate to learning design every day?
I try to check on a couple blog sites, and video tutorial sites every week to see if there are new relevant tutorials/articles for me.
2. What other designers do you have contact with on a regular basis?
I work with wonderful graphic designers at the KraftWorks, an ad agency I work at full time during the week. Bo Jung and Mike Hong are incredibly smart and talented and I learn from them on a daily basis.
3. Who are the top 2-3 designers that you respect and why?
1. Andrew Kramer – The best after effects motion graphics artist I’ve seen, his wisdom on Video Copilot has been invaluable to not just me, but to the whole industry. There needs to be more people like him.
2. Whoever designed Tumblr. That site is amazing, and just keeps getting better. (who designed it?)
4. What’s your favorite website or design you ever made and why?
I’m partial to my newest portfolio site, BisForBryan. It was fun to create something entirely based in flash, designing it was a lot of fun, then trying to figure out how to make it work in Flash was a very difficult but rewarding challenge.

5. Have you ever been published in a book or magazine? What books or magazines?
I recently created some illustrations and wrote an article for the first issue of EatSleepDraw magazine, you and buy it (or pay what you want for a pdf) here.
6. What’s your favorite color in hexadecimal? How often do you find yourself leaning towards it with design projects?
#FFFFFF or
#000000. I like to stay as simple as possible, then accent with colors when needed.
7. What’s your most recent project we can look at?
I’ve recently been designing a shirt every week, you can take a look at them here.
It’s Cory U. Gated (our old box mascot) designed by Bryan Brinkman.

Still loving the jackalope. It’s great having you Bryan! It’s good to let our animator friends know they get love here too. :)
Your shirts are great!
