Why Do I Design?
You might be asking yourself that same question right. There are so many designers out there in many realms, and chances are there are many more that are better than you. I see too many up and coming web designers that are so beyond my skills that it’s scary from a working mans viewpoint. Luckily I have BoxedinDesign to pay my bills (yea right). lol

Well why do you design?
You do it because of many factors. Like because it’s fun to bring out your creative side. If you do some web design you more than likely also do some sort of programming. Programming controls your left side of your brain. Your right side is your creative side, and the one I try to protect the most in a fall. I’m extreme so I fall many times a day.
Another good reason that you might design is because you are just not good at anything else. It’s your calling and you kick major rear in design! I’m not the opposite but I do notice I’m equally good at design and being analytical. Why do I design? I do it because I enjoy the challenges of creating that perfectly design logo that makes the client say, “Nice. I peed a little.”
You might just be designing because it pays the rent and you happened to be blessed with understanding color wheels. If that’s you I’m talking about, don’t waste the talent. Share your knowledge with the rest of us on your next blogging venture.
Yea, even just being a good designer and wanting to share your knowledge is a reason to still be designing. It was that and trying to create something that had never been made before that got me to dive deeper into design studies at college.
What makes you design?

I design because I love it.

I design because I feel compelled to create. To give life to ideas that want to live. I like to code too, but I feel that that is also design —just in a different way. More abstract than painting or logo design. Design is a challenge to create meaning from raw materials.
Also, it pays way better than working retail.
